How does it work?

We run our residential bin collection services on a regular schedule to match the off-weeks of the council collection. When you sign up, you’ll be added to our collection route, and your bins will be emptied on the weeks the council don’t – simple!

What types of bins do you collect?

We collect general waste bins on the weeks the council don’t.

Will you empty recycling bins?

Yes, we can empty your general waste bin OR any recycling bin, it must be left on the roadside or where you usually leave it for your local council. Doctor Junk will not collect your Garden Waste bin unless it has been agreed prior.

Where do I leave my bin?

Bins should be left in the same place you leave it for the council.

What time will my bin be emptied?

Bins will be emptied between 7am and 7pm on your collection days. Bins should be left in the same place you leave it for your local council.

How do I sign up?

How do I pay for the service?

All our bin collection services are billed via direct debit. Once you sign up, payments are taken automatically, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

How do I know when the council isn’t collecting my bins?

Council collection calendars vary by street and area. We check your collection calendar when you sign up, so our bin collection service fits in perfectly on the ‘off’ weeks.

Do I need to be home during collection?

No – as long as your bin is accessible from the roadside, our team can collect it even when you’re not home. Bins will be collected between 7am and 7pm on collection days.

What happens to the waste collected?

We transport all collected waste to licensed disposal and recycling facilities in line with Scottish Waste regulations. We strive to divert as much recyclable material from landfill as possible.

What if I have missed a collection?

If you have accidentally missed your bin collection day and have overflowing bins, please feel free to book our single sweep service via our website.

I am unable to put my bin out on the roadside, is this a problem?

Not at all. We offer a dedicated assisted collection service for elderly and disabled customers. Our team will collect your bin from an agreed location (e.g garden or driveway) empty it and return it. Please let us know if you would like to arrange this service when you sign up.

If I leave bin bags sitting outside my bin, will you collect them?

No – all waste must be contained inside the bin in order to be collected. Loose bin bags placed beside or on top of the bin will not be removed unless agreed prior, in line with our safety and waste handling policies.
